i liked soft machine 'ok,' but i like kevin ayers solo shit way a lot. websites say he's syd barrett w/o "the madness." yes. i can see that. download the version of 'stranger in blue suede shoes' w/ eno/cale et al. also 'observations' is great.
mix cd's? well, erik's most recent opus was/is superb. i haven't made one and sent it out in almost a year. anyone who wants a copy of the double cd set, 'if we go to war and win, can i pick the music?' should send snailmail addresses to me via the computer. that's right, 2 cd's of shit you can only hear in the living rooms of 40-something nerds. unless you work overnight in the westin hotel, where you hear the coolest shit every friday and saturday after abdulaye goes home and i turn off WNELLY fm.
